MALVERN and UPTON - Stop people being scammed by dropping off letters
MALVERN and Upton residents are being urged to drop off scam letters in special boxes to alert the authorities.
Scamnesty drop boxes are in place at the Malvern Hills and Upton Customer Service Centres and letters can be dumped free of charge.
The idea is that these will provide valuable new intelligence to the local authority Trading Standards Services to help inform future investigations, which will prevent others from being conned.
So-called 'miracle health cures' were among the top five mass-marketed scam mailings last year along with deceptive sweepstakes, misleading prize draws, fake/clairvoyants/psychics and bogus foreign lotteries.
Anyone that thinks they have been a victim of a scam, or suspect a scam, should call 08454 04 05 06 or visit
